Joint Stock Company steel wire rope plant ⌠Silur■ is located in Khartsyzsk of Donetsk Region, in Ukraine.

Ukraine ≈ is a state in the South part of Eastern Europe. In the South it is washed by the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Total area is 603,700 sq km. The population of the country comes to 46 million people. Ukraine consists of 24 regions, 2 municipalities, and 1 territorial autonomy Autonomous Republic Crimea.

In the structure of national income according to the official returns of 1993 industry has 52%, and agriculture - 25%. Power generation is 228 billion of kilowatt-hour; the basis of power industry ≈ large-scale thermoelectric power stations (including A-plants), cascade hydroelectric power stations on Dnepr. Mineral resource industry of Ukraine is well developed; it includes coal and brown coal production, oil, gas production, extraction of iron and manganese ores, non-ferrous metals and less-common metals ore, burnstone, potassium and rock salt. The following branches of heavy industry - mechanical engineering, metal-working (production of equipment for mining and metallurgy industry, power engineering, electrical industry, machine-tool and instrument-making industries, electronic industry including production of TV sets, computers, transport equipment); ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy (aluminium, titanium, magnesium, mercury production, etc.); chemistry, chemical recovery industry, petrochemistry (chemical fertilizers, sulphuric acid, soda, plastics, man-made fibers) ≈ are the key industries of Ukraine.

Donetsk region is the largest region of Ukraine according to population; it is also large industrial, scientific and educational center. Khartsyzsk is situated in the steppe aria in the South of Donetsk mountain-ridge, it is 29 km far from Donetsk. The total area is 20,3 sq km.

Modern highways connect the town with regional centers of Ukraine and with Russia. The roads are in satisfactory condition, with well-developed system of modern filling stations. Khartsyzsk is 20 km far from a large railway station in Ilovaysk, and 25 km from railway station in Yasinovataya, that is one of the largest in Europe. The nearest port is in Mariupol, in 150 km from the town. The nearest airport is in Donetsk.
